Software Toolbox acquires OPC Business of Northern Dynamic

December 3, 2007 – Charlotte, NC. Software Toolbox Inc. announced today that is has completed the acquisition of the OPC business assets, trade names, and goodwill of Northern Dynamic Inc. Since 1999, Northern Dynamic has provided OPC development toolkits for Visual Studio and Visual Studio.NET and applications to customers in 32 countries including leading companies such as ABB, Aspentech, ConocoPhillips, Dupont, Eastman Kodak, GE Fanuc, Honeywell, Rolls Royce, Kimberly-Clark, and more. Software Toolbox, a Charter Member of the OPC Foundation, has provided software products supporting the OPC standard to over 10,000 manufacturing, integration, and OEM customers in 90 countries since 1996. Software Toolbox plans to take the Northern Dynamic products forward with continued service and support for all customers. The products included in the acquisition are the OPC DA Server Toolkits, OPC Alarm & Events Server Toolkit, SLIK-DA OPC Server Rapid Development Kit, SLIK-DAC OPC Client Rapid Development Kit, OPC Gateway, and GEM-80 OPC Server.

Malloch adds, “Our client base will further benefit from Software Toolbox’s reach and wide range of other OPC related product offerings and expertise that complements the products they were using from Northern Dynamic.”
