| Sola/Hevi-Duty S2K Line-Interactive UPS Provides Advanced Protection In Small Package |
.jpg) ORLANDO, FL, October 27, 2004 (Automation Fair) – The S2K Series from Sola/Hevi-Duty is a line of ultra-compact, line-interactive Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) featuring Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) topology and data line protection. S2K UPS’s prevent highly sensitive equipment, such as PC’s, workstations, PLC’s and computer peripherals, from being damaged in the event of surges, spikes, lightning strikes, blackouts and other severe power disturbances. The built-in AVR stabilizes voltage and frequency fluctuations for a cleaner, more consistent power supply, plus saves battery power for deep sag situations when input voltage is below 78V. Additionally, all S2K Series UPS are provided with an input circuit protector and a pair of surge protected data line connectors (RJ-45) for telephone and network connections. The S2K design gets high marks for its intelligent battery management and hot-swappable batteries that do not require shutdown for replacement — two valuable features typically not found on this type of UPS. An automatic bi-weekly test function insures the capability of the battery to supply power in emergency situations. Should the battery fail this test, the UPS displays a “replace battery” warning. And because S2K Series UPS’s are line-interactive, most power disturbance corrections are accomplished without transferring to the internal battery. Sola/Hevi-Duty S2K UPS’s are available in 120 and 230 VAC models with power ratings from 300 VA through 1000 VA. Standard features include: • Selectable input voltage (110, 120 or 127 VAC) • Input voltage surge suppression • Compact dimensions, as small as 8.7 x 4.6 x 7.7 inches • Surge protected output receptacles • Surge protected telephone and modem connections • Battery (internal) backup time up to eight minutes at full load • Automatic internal battery testing and status indication • Hot Swappable and end user replaceable internal batteries • DB-9 communications port • MultiLink™ Power management software to facilitate the graceful shutdown of critical processes, computer equipment or computer peripherals.
