March 5, 2007 - SOURIAU inaugurated the extension of its moulding plant, located at La Ferté Bernard (Department of Sarthe, France), on Friday 2 March. The new hall, with an area of 850 sq. m, will house a dozen plastic injection presses. The La Ferté Bernard site has expanded from 50 persons in 2003 to more than 100 today. After the extension of its machining workshop in November 2006, SOURIAU is continuing the development of its production capacities. This sites mastery of the technology, cutting-edge know-how and competitiveness are key factors in the latest commercial successes of SOURIAU in the area of composite-material connectors for civil and military aircraft and for oil exploration and industrial robotics. This extension will expand production capacity to match the strong growth of group business, which should remain above 10% per year over the next three years. SOURIAU is Europes leading manufacturer of connectors for severe environments intended for industrial, military and aerospace applications. The group participates in major international aerospace and military programmes, and is positioned strongly in the instrumentation, railway, robotics, automatic control and machine tools, nuclear and geophysics markets. SOURIAU has recruited more than 400 persons worldwide over the last four years. SOURIAU generates a turnover of 195 million and employs some 1750 persons around the world. The groups industrial sites are located in France, the United States, Japan, Morocco, India and the Dominican Republic, and its network of subsidiaries covers more than 15 countries. |
