STI--First-Ever Jointed Safety Light Curtain Awarded Multiple Patents

STI--First-Ever Jointed Safety Light Curtain Awarded Multiple Patents
FREMONT, CA – The MCJ4700 Series Safety Light Curtain from Scientific Technologies, Inc., was recently awarded patent numbers' 6,294,777; and 6,297,498 for it's unique modular design. The MCJ4700 series is the first ever multiple segment safety light curtain that is connected via innovative solid electromechanical joints. This design requires no cabling between segments, which eliminates the risk of accidentally cutting or snagging the cables.

The MCJ4700 can be configured for the precise protection that is needed, and is the most custom configurable safety light curtain available today. The compact transmitter and receiver, response time as fast as 8 msec and resolution as small as 12 mm allow it to be easily integrated into the design of small machines, and the electromechanical joints create a built-in appearance when installed.

With headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley, STI was founded nearly 30 years ago and employs more than 350 people. STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by Business Week as one of the “world’s best small companies.” STI’s safety products are used to protect workers around machinery, automated equipment and industrial robots. Their products serve a wide variety of applications and markets, including semiconductor, automotive, electronics manufacturing, packaging and consumer markets.
