| STI--New DIN Controller Offers Enhanced Safety Light Curtain Operation |
FREMONT, CA Scientific Technologies, Inc. introduces the LCM-3 Safety Light Curtain Controller. The LCM-3 features a multi-programmable channel select function. This allows up to eight different channel select patterns to be selected and stored using an eight position binary switch. This function can be controlled with a PLC. The LCM-3 is ideal for applications where a variety of materials are inserted through the protected filed of the light curtain, such as press operations and post-extrusion processing. Features include two PNP solid state safety outputs; two auxiliary outputs; MPCE monitoring for control reliability; a two-digit numeric display for fault diagnostics; exact and programmable Channel Select; and one and two channel Floating Blanking. The LCM-3 also offers Automatic Start, Start/Restart Interlock, and Start Interlock selectable modes.
