STI--New Safety Contact Strips Enhance Safeguarding, Offer Simplified Assembly
FREMONT, CA –Scientific Technologies, Inc. (STI), introduces SGE series safety contact strips. The SGE series features molded end caps as well as wiring plugs that are inserted directly into the safety contact for simplified assembly. The co-extruded safety contact is an integral part of the profile, eliminating the need to 'fish' the safety contact into the profile.

SGE series safety contact strips provide another solution to meet safety requirements for machine guarding applications, and can be an integral part of many comprehensive machine safeguarding solutions. They can be used to safeguard many hazards, including gates, doors, machines and scissor lifts. The safety contact is housed in and protected from damage by an outer covering of non-conductive rubber that allows actuation angles up to 90 degrees. This construction offers low resistance, even in lengths exceeding 100 meters.

With headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley, STI was founded over 30 years ago and employs more than 330 people. STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by Business Week as one of the “world’s best small companies.” STI’s safety products are used to protect workers around machinery, automated equipment and industrial robots.
