Thermo Helps Customers Achieve Greater Efficiency and Quality

Houston, TX – October 18, 2006 – Thermo Electron Corporation, an industry leading producer of analytical and process instrumentation, will showcase its full complement of process control products in booth #1332 at the ISA Expo in Houston, Texas from October 17-19, 2006.

With its unique pedigree of both laboratory and process analysis expertise, as well as years of experience in multiple industries, Thermo is a leader in high-tech process instrumentation, data management software, training and support services. The company’s breadth of products extends to a variety of industries including petroleum, power, pharmaceutical, and water and wastewater, among others. At the ISA Expo, Thermo’s booth will feature process analyzers, air, gas and liquid flowmeters, density meters, and level sensors.

“At Thermo, we’re committed to bringing online process measurements to our customers’ field operations. We focus on the ability to characterize, measure, control and continuously optimize processes for improvement – wherever those processes take place,” said S. Zafar Kamal, Ph.D., divisional director, marketing and commercial development for Thermo. “We’re pleased to showcase our wide range of solutions at ISA and are confident that these products will help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.”

The specific products in Thermo’s ISA Expo showcase include:
1. Spectra-Quad Online Moisture and Constituent Analyzer: provides real-time information on moisture and other critical product parameters by monitoring product content.
2. Antaris MX FT-NIR Process Analyzer: facilitates point-of-use near-infrared routine testing and online process analysis. The Antaris MX system is optimized for raw material and mobile trigger probe operation.
3. Antaris EX FT-NIR Process Analyzer: provides an integrated near-infrared package optimized for unmanned process control monitoring. Providing fit-for-purpose solutions at key control points, the Antaris EX platform is specifically geared for hazardous environments and closed-loop, control strategy applications.
4. SOLA II (Sulfur OnLine Analysis): measures total sulfur in liquid hydrocarbon fuel process streams. The SOLA addresses the need for a low maintenance sulfur analyzer that can reliably measure low ppm levels to help customers meet the tightening Tier 2, regulatory requirements limiting sulfur levels in fuels.
5. VG Prima dB - Process Mass Spectrometer: sets new standards for process mass spectrometer performance and reliability. The combination of superior analytical performance, backed by VG application knowledge and powerful Gasworks and Prima Wizard software packages, make the VG Prima the world's top-selling process mass spectrometer system.
6. AutoFLOW Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Measurement System: features an inline multi-path transit time flow meter used primarily for the custody transfer of petroleum products.
7. Sarasota Liquid Density Meter: measures density or density related variables within the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, food and beverage and general process industries. This highly accurate online continuous meter provides key information for process monitoring and control, quality control, product interface detection and custody transfer applications.
8. PortableToxic Vapor Analyzer: provides fast and accurate readings of organic and inorganic vapors and meets EPA Method 21 specifications for monitoring fugitive emissions. The TVA1000B is the only portable, intrinsically safe, survey flame ionization (FID) and photoionization (PID) dual monitor.
9. Gas Analyzer for Nitrogen Oxides: delivers the industry’s new best-of-breed gas analyzer to meet customers’ gas monitoring needs: reliability, simplicity, ease of use. The flagship product in Thermo’s new iSeries product line is the Model 42i NO-NO2-NOX analyzer.
