August 26, 2008 — TUV Rheinland of North America has been accredited to the ISO/IEC 17021:2006 management systems certification standard by the American National Accreditation Body (ANAB). As of Sept. 15, 2008, this new standard replaces ISO/IEC Guide 62:1996 and ISO/IEC Guide 66:1999.

The ISO/IEC 17021 standard requires competent, consistent and impartial audit and certification of all types of management systems, including quality and environmental management systems. The standard requires a process-oriented approach paying particular attention to the competency of all parties involved in the certification process. All registrars must transition to the updated standard by the implementation date or forfeit its accreditation status.

“This accreditation speaks to our continued commitment to provide our clients with the highest level of quality, which they have come to expect from TUV Rheinland of North America,” said Richard Bernier, TÜVRheinland’s Management Systems Certification Division Manager.
