Research Triangle Park, NC – January 7, 2008 - WBF's first quarter 2008 webcast schedule includes a variety of upcoming topics focused on introductory, advanced, and hot topics for professionals in the automation and manufacturing industry.

WBF's webcasts begin at 11:00 a.m. EDT and last approximately 90 minutes, with live presentations including question and answer sessions with the presenters. Members and non-members pay just $95 per connection, or individuals can join WBF for $50 and receive four free seminars with membership.

The first webcast of 2008 will be held January 16 with presenter Larry O'Brien of ARC Advisory Group. Entitled "Preview of the Global Automation Market for 2008," this seminar will study leading indicators shaping the growth of the global automation marketplace, from capacity utilization to productivity and industrial production, and how these will affect the market in the coming year.

On February 20, Bryan Singer and Eric Cosman will team up to present a webcast titled "An Overview of ISA99." The third webcast of the year, scheduled for March 19, will feature industry expert Lynn Craig's presentation of "Intro to ISA88 - Philosophy, Structure, and Terminology." It will emphasize a clear definition of basic control and its relation to the procedural control necessary for true automation.

The March seminar serves as an appropriate precursor to the April 16 webcast, also presented by Lynn Craig, entitled "Using ISA88 - Approaches, Opinions & Caution." This presentation will deal primarily with the design approach and attempt to lay out the presenter's approach to definition and organization of modular basic control and its proper role at both the phase and recipe levels. It will also attempt to identify some of the more common pitfalls and ways to avoid them.

Additional topics planned for later months include "Critical Manufacturing Safety & Security" and "Intro to ISA95 & Applying ISA95 Models."
