| Jervis Webb to supply sand conveyors to U.S. Silica | ||

November 15, 2009 - Jervis B. Webb announced a $290,000 contract with U.S. Silica Company to manufacture eight belt conveyors. Webb will engineer and manufacture 800 feet of 24-, 30-, and 36-inch conveyors, which will move sand through the purifying process at the U.S. Silica plant in Rockwood, Mich. “The Webb team impressed us with their engineering and manufacturing expertise, as well as their ability to deliver the conveyors so quickly,” said Thomas Kramer, engineering project manager for U.S. Silica. “We know that we can count on Webb to deliver a top quality conveyor within a short period of time.” Webb plans to complete the project in less than three months. The new system includes truss and channel supported conveyors, which will interface with equipment from other suppliers. The conveyors will move damp and heated sand that is up to 250° F in temperature. “Webb specializes in designing durable conveyors that maximize throughput and efficiency for both large and small projects,” said Noel Dehne, vice president of Webb Bulk Handling Systems. “We customize systems for the way our customers do business whether it’s meeting a tight deadline for manufacturing belt conveyors or providing a complex, multi-million dollar system.” Webb has more than 50 years experience engineering, manufacturing, and installing turnkey bulk handling systems that move materials such as coal, lignite, and limestone, as well as ash and waste removal.
