| Weed Instrument Company Introduces New Gigabit Managed Ethernet Switches |
Weed Instrument of Round Rock, Texas, has introduced a series of new managed Ethernet switches, designed to meet stringent industrial requirements, with three levels of management properties for a wide range of applications. The new L1100 LynxSwitch features light management properties and is the perfect choice where temperature, vibration and insulation are critical parameters. The new L1300 LynxSwitch offers standard management properties and features the Fast Re-configuration of Network Topology concept of Weed Instrument (FRNT v0) for single redundant ring applications and ultra fast re-configuration time (20mS). The new L1400 LynxSwitch supports self-healing ring and full management properties with SNMP, IGMP snooping, VLAN, authentication, and more. Recently released models include up to two Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic ports for even more data throughput and higher bandwidth applications. Management of the LynxSwitch is easy and is accomplished by the end user using a Windows-based IP Configuration tool. The tool is free from Weed Instrument and can be accessed via any of the Ethernet ports. Thus, no serial port is required for setting the configuration parameter on the LynxSwitch, so the switches can be mounted and installed prior to configuration. The LynxSwitch offers excellent real time properties through both Layer 2 and Layer 3 priority support, with four priority queues and head of line blocking prevention for low priority packets.
