.jpg) RICHMOND, VA - April 25, 2007 – Weidmuller introduces the new Z-Compact mini terminal block series–designed to deliver flexibility and vibration-proof connections in a minimal amount of space. Equipped with a highly reliable tension clamp connection, the Z-Compact series is ideal for cramped control cabinets and standard junction enclosures. Weidmuller’s Z-Compact terminal block series includes the ZDU 2.5N, a single-level feedthrough terminal that is only 1.4” in length and mounts on a TS-35 DIN-rail. At this compact size, 60 termination points per foot of DIN-rail are possible. The ZDU 2.5N features one pluggable jumpering channel per terminal block, and is available in 3 and 4 branch configurations. Ground versions and two diode versions are also available. In addition to the single-level types, the series also consists of dual level versions, such as ZDK 2.5/3AN, which offers the highest wiring density with six connections and two jumpering channels. An application that uses both compact types– single level and dual level– can result in reduced installation space, allowing the use of a smaller enclosure, or providing additional space for other components. The Z-Compact terminal blocks are UL rated for 300V, 20A and 30...12 AWG. Each terminal block has a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0 and standard tension clamp accessories are compatible.
