| Wieland s Spring Clamp 8520 BL PCB connectors |
 BURGAW, N.C. (March 24, 2003) Wieland Electric Inc, a leading manufacturer of interconnect products announces its 8520 pluggable PC board spring clamp connectors. It is available as a pluggable connector with matching pin strip, and in a direct mount solder version with vertical or horizontal solder pins. These economical spring clamp connectors minimize wiring time and provide the advantage of fast connections to the PC board due to their unique design. With no clamping screws, the 8520 series provide maintenance free, vibration and shock proof connections with permanent and continuous clamping forces. The rated cross section of the 8520 connector is 0.5mm2 solid, which makes the wiring process easy; simply push the solid conductor into the clamp, forcing it open. No tools are required. The spring clamp tension will securely terminate the conductor. The spacing is 3.5mm and the pole configurations vary between 2 and 8 poles. 7mm pitch available upon request. The main field of application for this PC board connector is in communication technology, a sector which demands fast connections. The 8520 series of connectors are made of polyamide 6.6 and have a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0 and accept solid wire sizes 24-20 AWG.
