June 23, 2008 - Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, today announced that the 2008 WonderWorld global industry conference series, co-sponsored by Microsoft and Mitsubishi Electric, will kick off the week of October 6 in Las Vegas.

The WonderWorld industry events will be held in seven locations throughout the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia. This year's conference series theme is "Enabling Innovation for Real-Time Operational Excellence." The conference focus will target a variety of industry topics such as innovative production and software strategies; tactics for manufacturers and infrastructure operations to achieve real-time operational excellence; and effective collaboration strategies involving executives, operations, IT and engineering personnel.

Wonderware also will highlight new innovative technologies that can be delivered through the use of Wonderware software solutions for manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and human-machine interface (HMI).

"Wonderware is again offering a popular forum for customers, key partners and other industry leaders to share important innovations on how to best approach the continuous drive towards operational excellence," said Mark Davidson, vice president of global marketing. "Wonderware recognizes that operational excellence is not achieved through a single project or initiative, nor is it made possible by one portion of a customer's or partner's organization. The 2008 WonderWorld global conference series is designed to provide important, relevant content for each team member with information that is specific to their role in achieving real-time operational excellence -- from industrial and manufacturing executives, to operations managers, IT professionals and plant automation and maintenance engineers."

WonderWorld 2008 conferences will feature educational sessions led by industry experts from Wonderware, Microsoft, Mitsubishi Electric, S AP and other key business and technology leaders. These sessions will offer insight on how companies can achieve greater speed, efficiency, collaboration and innovation to improve overall operations efficiency.

WonderWorld keynote speaker in Las Vegas will be Martin Eberhard, automotive innovator and co-founder of Tesla Motors, which designs and sells high-performance, highly efficient electric sports cars. Other featured speakers during the various events will include Sudipta Bhattacharya, president of Wonderware; Charles Johnson, vice president of manufacturing industries at Microsoft; Cindy Jutras, vice president and group director for ERP and manufacturing at Aberdeen Group; and selected Wonderware customers, partners, trade press and industry speakers that represent a wide range of industrial automation and information market segments.

Topics to be presented at the conference series are designed to provide business operations executives and managers, information technology professionals, automation and engineering personnel and Wonderware solution providers with vital information on how companies can optimize their production operations a nd overall business operations. Attendees will obtain information on the latest Wonderware software solutions as well as learn how to achieve maximum efficiency and increased performance across their enterprises through the use of best industry practices.

This year's conference will feature the Wonderware Open, an annual contest that recognizes innovative and noteworthy applications created using Wonderware software. Wonderware and industry press will be judging entries for the best applications in HMI, SCADA, MES and EMI categories. The best applications, based on business value generated, will be selected during the WonderWorld conference at the North America and Europe events.

Attendees also will be able to participate in networking and demonstration activities that will be held at the on-site WonderWorld Innovation Partner Expo, which will feature hands-on demos of innovative solutions from Wonderware and its partners that align real-time operational excellence for manufacturing operations and infrastructure operations. Optional product and technology training also will be offered at selected WonderWorld venues for attendees who would like to maximize the Wonderware education experience.

WonderWorld 2008 conferences will be held at the following locations: Las Vegas, (Oct. 7-8) for the Americas; Belo Horizonte, Brazil (Nov. 5); Avila, Spain (Nov. 13-14); Seoul, South Korea (Nov. 18); Copenhagen, Denmark (Nov. 19-20) for Europe, Middle East and Africa; Guangzhou, China (Nov. 20); Mexico City (Feb. 19, 2009).
