Wonderware Receives Frost & Sullivan’s 2006 Company of the Year Award

ORLANDO, Fla., April 27, 2006 -- Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys plc, today announced that it has received Frost & Sullivan’s coveted Company of the Year Award for its pioneering work in the human-machine interface (HMI) and manufacturing software technology market segments. The ArchestrA software architecture was recognized as a key industry innovation which has contributed to Wonderware’s marketplace success in combining leading-edge technology with successful business initiatives.

Frost & Sullivan recognized ArchestrA technology as an important industry achievement that fulfills customer requirements for the re-use of engineering from project to project, to reduce development costs and time. The ArchestrA architecture and related Wonderware products built on this technology enable customers to easily adopt new software solutions without abandoning prior investments in automation, production and IT systems.

To date, approximately 1,000 automation and information projects at more than 700 locations worldwide have been successfully implemented using the latest ArchestrA technology-based solutions. This highly scalable and flexible software architecture is being used across a broad range of applications including supervisory HMI, SCADA, and real-time Production Management (MES) and Performance Management (Manufacturing Intelligence).

Customers have rated Wonderware as a highly responsive company that has consistently delivered on its promises and excelled in providing its global customers with winning software solutions that solve information management challenges in an increasingly complex global environment, said Sanjeev Sridharan, research analyst, Frost & Sullivan. The immense success of Wonderware’s HMI, SCADA and MES software solutions has helped Wonderware consistently grow at a faster rate than the market and tower over its competitors.

This is the third consecutive year that Frost & Sullivan has recognized Wonderware for its outstanding industry achievements. Last year, Wonderware’s InTouch human-machine interface (HMI) software received the industry research firm’s Product Innovation Award. In 2004, Wonderware received a Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Leadership Award.

Frost & Sullivan’s recognition of Wonderware’s product and business innovations reflects our continuing commitment to creating customer business value using software technology leadership, said Mark Davidson, Wonderware’s vice president of global marketing. ArchestrA technology enables customers to benefit from an open, industry standards-based software approach that leverages their existing plant and business systems. By using a modular plant model, customers can create innovative production and performance management solutions that evolve at their own business pace.

These software solutions are rapidly scalable and repeatable across multiple production lines and plants -- supporting low-risk rollouts of best practices for manufacturing operations excellence. Our customers are managing their manufacturing operations in real time with increased visibility and responsiveness. This enables them to resolve issues rapidly and cost-effectively, resulting in improved productivity.
