Xycom Automation Announces New Pro-face Brand LT Series Models Satisfying the Need for Flexible Factory Control

Saline, MI March 11, 2003 Xycom Automation, Inc., a subsidiary of Pro-face America, Inc. and a market leader in Industrial PCs, announces the expansion of the popular Pro-face LT Series Programmable Controller. The LT Series Graphic Logic Controller (GLC) has expanded to include an entirely new field in factory automation by combining safer and more accurate production systems.

The original LogiTouch Series, released in 2001, already contains three different types: Type A with 32-points of I/O, built in, Type B with an interface that will connect with the Pro-face brand of I/O called Flex Network, and Type C which also has a Flex Network interface but adds a serial port to talk to other controllers, temperature controllers or serial devices. All models of the LT Series have a 5.7" blue-and-white LCD with fully functional Human Machine Interface (HMI) features.

New LT Series units being introduced consist of types B+, D and H. Type B+ is a combination of the Type A and Type B units with its built-in 32-points of I/O and Flex Network interface. Type B+ provides cost-effective built in I/O with 16 inputs and 16 outputs (all 24 VDC) and the ability to connect to the Flex Network line of distributed I/O. This space saving unit will also reduce the size enclosure once needed for this much equipment.

Applications that use DeviceNetä slave I/O now have an incredible choice for a controller, the LT Series Type D. Type D offers DeviceNet master capabilities with HMI, all in one package - an industry first. This new controller now gives you the ability to choose from hundreds of vendors supplying I/O, all supporting the same industry specification. The uses are limitless!

Type H is packed with Discrete I/O, Analog I/O, high-speed counter, and pulse output. Some units have thermocouple or RTD inputs. Type H has so much I/O, it's hard to believe it all fits in a unit this size. The LT Editor software (version 2.0) now supports the Proportional, Integral, Derivative (PID) instruction, common in today's control systems.

The LT Series units increase functionality, reduce time to market and reduce overall system costs.
