DeviceNet Guides & AS-interface Tutorial

Do you use DeviceNet in your control systems?  Do you want to learn more about AS-interface?  If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then you should check out the links listed below.  My friends over at InterlinkBT, a supplier of bus components for all of the major open buses, have developed three great resources for DeviceNet and AS-interface users.

The DeviceNet Power Guide discusses the current and voltage limits and presents a simple way to design a DeviceNet network system.

The DeviceNet Troubleshooting Guide helps you determine the causes of network problems and provide the appropriate solutions.  The Guide covers DeviceNet network components, wiring and connector definitions, cable classifications, network layout considerations, problem diagnostics, network tests, and procedures for setting node address and communication rates.

The AS-interface Tutorial provides a comparison of v2.0 and v2.1, including a section on analog response times and mixing legacy v2.0 and v2.1 nodes. It also takes a look at where AS-interface "fits" in the modern industrial enterprise. In addition it discusses rules for layout, use of repeaters, physical media, power and grounding. Finally, the Tutorial reviews troubleshooting considerations.
