Introductory Comments
Our guest article this week,
New Era In CNC Control & Maintenance, was written by
Pete Bartelme and Dave Michalets of MachineMate, Inc. The article
discusses the maintenance advantages of using PC-based
technology for CNC control. You can link to the complete
article from the Featured Article section below.
As indicated in last week's
e-news, we are running a subscription referral promotion until
the end of June. Refer five of your colleagues and enter a
drawing for a $500 gift certificate. It does require a bit
of networking on your behalf, but think of it as an opportunity
to reconnect with some colleagues that you maybe haven't communicated
with in a while. I'm guessing the chances of winning will
be pretty good, but that depends on the number of people that
participate. Read below for more details.
And, as usual, don't forget to
review the
News and Job Postings added to our site in the last week.
Well, since Memorial Day is next
week and many people will be on vacation, I won't be publishing
an e-newsletter. We will, however, continue to publish
news and other content on the site. So, check back often
for the latest developments. Look for the next e-news on
June 9th.
On to the good stuff...Enjoy the rest of this e-news!

Temperature Sensors
Resources
I was recently introduced to a Web
site dedicated to the devices that measure temperature,
www.temperatures.com.
This site, along with it's companion sites,
www.tempsensors.net and
www.temperaturesensornews.com offer a wealth of news and
information resources regarding temperature sensors and their
application. These sites are unique, free internet
information/education Web sites aimed directly at Engineers,
Scientists, Technicians and Students. So, if you have an
interest in temperature sensors, be sure to check out these
sites.
It turns out that these site(s)
selected Automationtechies.com for their "Hot Site" award as an
outstanding Web resource site. Here's a link to the write-up
regarding Automationtechies.com:
http://www.tempsensor.net/displayarticle68.html.
For other links relating to
temperature sensors, please refer to the following web page:

Subscription Referral Promotion
Between now and June 30, 2004, we are running a subscription
referral promotion. Here's how it works...Refer five
colleagues to subscribe to our web site and your name will go in
a drawing for the $500 gift certificate from
www.webcertificate.com.
This gift certificate functions just like a MasterCard and can
be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted on the Web.
Enter as many times as you like. But, for each entry you
will be required to submit the 5 e-mail addresses of colleagues
that have subscribed during the promotion period. And yes,
the colleagues must be industrial automation, process control or
instrumentation professionals (we'll verify them).
The following link is where your
colleagues can subscribe:
http://www.automation.com/jobs/default.php?page=add
To get your name entered in the
drawing for the $500.00 certificate, you must complete and
submit the following simple form:
