New Low Price for Fuji's Premier Transit-Time Flow Meter
More Info on Fuji's Premier Transit-Time Flow Meter
The "Time Delta S" is a fixed transit-time ultrasonic flow meter that measures liquid flow rate using sensors clamped to the outside of the pipe. This non-invasive technique provides many benefits over more traditional and invasive instruments, including: no system downtime for installation, no system contamination, no pressure drop, no moving parts, no risk of leaks (simplified regulatory approval), and virtually maintenance-free operation. The Time Delta S is ideally suited for measuring relatively clean, homogeneous liquids in pipe diameters ranging from 0.50 to 235 inches. The meter is compact and lightweight, and can be easily configured from the front keyboard.

Complete flow meter systems (converter + sensor set) now start at just $3,400. Free lifetime technical support is included with every product sold by TTI.

For more information about the Time Delta S or the rest of our flow meter line, please visit http://www.ttiglobal.com/flowhome.htm, or call us toll-free at 800-235-8367.

 Introduction

From One Techie to Another

Did everyone get caught up with all the news from ISA?  Don't worry if you didn't...we have all the news archived at News from ISA EXPO 2004, so you can browse at your leisure.  Well, there's another big show next week in Orlando, FL.  Some of you may have heard of it...Rockwell Automation Fair.  The venue will be a little smaller than ISA, with just over 100 exhibitors.  But, Rockwell hasn't had any problem drawing a crowd to this show, so I expect the attendance list to be as big, if not larger than ISA.  Since I'll be attending the show and the preceding press event, next week's issue of our e-newsletter will be a couple days late. I'm shooting for a Thursday afternoon delivery, but we'll see what happens.

We have a little bit of our own news to share with you this week!  Automationtechies.com recently acquired the www.automation.com domain. This acquisition allows us to separate the online media/information destination Web site from the direct-hire and contract recruiting services also offered by Automationtechies.  Automation.com will provide the same great content that you have come to expect from the industry-leading online destination. The transition has already begun...all www.automationtechies.com Web pages are currently being redirected to www.automation.com.  Over the next several weeks you can expect to see a change in logo, a site redesign and new navigation. Once the site transition is complete, the www.automationtechies.com domain will be re-launched to highlight and describe the direct-hire and contract recruiting services currently offered by Automationtechies.com.

We are very excited about this new domain because it reinforces our dedication to providing timely and relevant information to automation professionals around the world.  You can read more about this acquisition in our newly posted Press Release that we hope will be covered by a few of the industry magazines.  If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me.

On to the good stuff...Enjoy the rest of this e-news!

Our featured article this week, The Problems of Scarcity & Abundance, was written by Jim Pinto.  Jim has written another thought-provoking article about how every abundance brings a matching scarcity.  We see these two anomalies in our lives and in our industry.  In this article, Jim discusses a few of the abundances and scarcities that we've all experienced in our personal and professional lives.  New opportunities and businesses can be started by recognizing the next scarcities.  Use the link below to read this complete article.

In this issue, we're also featuring the brand new Pepperl+Fuchs 2004-2005 Sensors Catalog with complete features, benefits, selection guidelines, specifications, dimensions and wiring diagrams for their full line of capacitive sensors, inductive sensors, special sensors, ultrasonic sensors, photoelectric sensors, cord sets, amplifiers, counters, timers and controls, and accessories.

Our Featured Products this issue are ifm efector's Multi-channel Fiber Optic Sensor Controller, Beckhoff Automation's BK7500 SERCOS Bus Coupler, Cleveland Motion Controls new FALCON Programmable Automation Controller and Pressurex® Pressure Indicating Film from Sensors Products.  If you haven't seen our other featured products for October, please be sure to review our Featured Product page.

And, as usual, don't forget to review the new Product Announcements, Company News, Application News and Job Postings added to our site in the last week.

The Problems of Scarcity & Abundance

Automation has already had a big impact on productivity. Indeed, most of the so-called "jobless recovery" has been caused by the increased effectiveness of automation, which reduces headcount. Off shore outsourcing is responsible for just 15% of recent job losses. The dynamics of scarcity and abundance have affected our industry.  So now what?  Look for the next scarcity.
