Hello everyone, We're back! What I mean is when we changed our web site address from www.automationtechies.com to www.automation.com, none of the new automation.com pages were indexed by the search engines yet. Ultimately, it took the search engines about three months to re-index the 5000+ pages under our new domain. Now, we're back in the search results and our resulting traffic is higher than ever...reaching 150,000+ visitors from all over the world each month. I've always believed that "if you build it, they will come", to quote a line from the Kevin Costner movie Field of Dreams. In addition, automationtechies.com has been re-launched as our direct-hire and contract recruiting services site. So, for all you that were used to typing automationtechies.com in your browser for the latest news, articles, jobs, etc., you'll now have to type in automation.com instead. Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks when we launch the new Automation.com site design. I can hardly wait! As a popular industry resource, we are always looking for new content to share with our audience. If you have any white papers or application stories that you feel would benefit your fellow automation and control professionals, please send them to us at press@automation.com. We may just feature it in an upcoming issue of this e-newsletter. This week's featured article, Confessions of a Looney Tuner "See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak No Evil", was written by Sylvain Millette of Millette Control Engineering Inc. Sylvain shares an experience tuning a flow control loop in one of his field lectures. In this issue, we're featuring the book, IEC61131-3 Programming Methodology: Software Engineering Methods for Industrial Automated Systems, published by ICS Triplex ISaGRAF. The book introduces software engineering methods for the development of control code for industrial automated systems using the IEC 61131-3 standard programming environment. Our Featured Products in this issue are Moxa's Wireless Serial to Ethernet Device Server, TURCK's minifast® Connector and ASI's Capacitive Sensor. If you haven't seen our Featured Products for February, please be sure to review our Featured Product page. And, as usual, don't forget to review the new Product Announcements, Company News, Application News and Job Postings added to Automation.com site in the last week. Enjoy the rest of this e-news! |
