From One Techie to Another |
Hello everyone,
First, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who sent me some feedback regarding last weeks blog/forum request. Your input will help me determine what makes sense for Automation.com.
Last Thursday, I sent out a short survey regarding the ideal location for Messe Frankfurt's 2006 SPS Electric Automation trade show. We appreciate the input of those who responded. If you didn't have a chance to respond, please take the short (only 3 multiple-choice questions) survey at: http://www.automation.com/sitepages/pid1965.php.
So far, the responses to this survey are very interesting and somewhat predictable. I've also received a significant number of direct messages regarding the topic and everyone has a different opinion. I can conclude a few things from the responses so far. One is that people do care about the location of the next show presumably because they want to attend. Second, most people will only travel so far to go to these shows. And third, there is no one location where a show will draw attendees from all over the country, at least not yet. I think this show will have to alternate between a few different cities each year in order to accommodate all potential attendees.
Thanks again for your input! Stay tuned for more information regarding this show location in 2006.
Oh, and here's a Final Report from SPS Electric Automation America 2005 for your reference.
Enjoy the rest of this e-news!

Despite the public fears, there is no reason for utility companies to shun the immense benefits resulting from the integration of SCADA systems and the advantages of the Internet. The threat may be real, but the measures to protect SCADA systems are, fortunately, relatively easy.
