Corporate Cultures Part 3, about ABB
If you've been in this industry for a while, you'll remember that the 1990's were great years for industrial automation in the United States. Manufacturing companies were automating and improving their processes left and right and many automation suppliers were fat and happy.

Then we hit the turn of the century and everything started going downhill. I remember this well because we just started our company and launched our web site in March of 2000. Many manufacturers stopped spending money to improve their own manufacturing processes and started outsourcing to stay competitive. Large manufacturing companies and automation suppliers, with excessive overhead and huge head counts, were hit hard. The companies that reacted quickly to the changing times were able to pull themselves up and march on. ABB was one of those companies.
