Design and Verification of Motion Control Algorithms using Simulation
By Douglas Eastman, et al, The MathWorks,
Simulation allows verification of system performance in the development process, making it possible to identify problems early and optimize system level behavior to meet the design requirements. In this paper, Model-Based Design is applied to a motion control application where a load must be precisely positioned through a flexible shaft.
High Availability for Non-Traditional Discrete and Process Applications
By Bill Black, GE Intelligent Platforms
The principle behind a high availability control system is to double the individual system components and pass over control from the “active” controller to the “backup” controller at the moment of failure. Here’s how GE’s PACSystems does it.
