The drive systems, valued at 16 million euros, will be delivered, installed and commissioned at the end of 2008.
Siemens drives world's longest conveyor belt
Siemens equipped a 19-km conveyor belt system with drive systems for Alcoa, Rockdale, Texas. The conveyor belt system transports coal from the Three Oaks Mine.
WEG Delivers Its Largest Ever Slip Ring Motor

The largest motor ever made by WEG, a 27,000kW, 12-pole, 11kV slip ring induction machine, has being delivered to CEGELEC UK for final installation in the early summer of 2008. Weighing over 95,000kg, the high voltage motor is for use in a wind tunnel, for the testing of aircraft.
ABB supplies conveyor controls to Greek lignite mines
Five System 800xAs will control 250 belt conveyors at five lignite mines in Greece. The job includes 300 AC 800M controllers and 100,000 I/O.
Freightliner uses LabVIEW and PXI to verify truck assembly
Using NI tools, Freightliner integrated electrical test, machine vision and physical measurements into a system that ensures high-quality vehicles and instructs operators on the correct assembly process.
