NI Extends Portable Measurement Performance

National Instruments is expanding the measurements offered by portable instrumentation with new small, bus-powered performance devices. The USB-5132/5133 50 MS/s and 100 MS/s digitizers offer two simultaneously sampled channels with 8-bit resolution for high-speed measurements. For precision DC measurements, the USB-4065 digital multimeter offers 6½-digits of resolution at up to 10 readings per second and up to 3,000 readings per second at lower resolutions.

Striking at the heart of condition assessment
Power Engineering International, December 2007
By: Dave Randl, QinetiQ, UK
Remote visual inspections of machinery and pipework have always had limitations because of the inherent inflexibility of fibrescopes and videoscopes. The unique articulation of a guide now opens up the possibility of navigation through areas not previously possible, allowing a more comprehensive plant condition assessment.
