ICONICS publishes list of OPC-UA Servers
October 20, 2008 - ICONICS announced its online list of compatible OPC Unified Architecture (OPC-UA) and Data Access (OPC-DA) Servers, making it the most comprehensive list in the marketplace.
ICONICS and Kepware Technologies have signed a partnership agreement to create the world’s first total end-to-end OPC-UA solution. The “ICONICS OPC-UA KEPServer” integrates HMI/SCADA and visualization with a rich library of device connectivity from Kepware. One of the benefits of the working relationship between Kepware and ICONICS is the expansion of the list of compatible OPC-UA Servers available through ICONICS.
Visitors to ICONICS’ OPC Server Web page at www.iconics.com/products/opcserverList.asp will find a growing list of vendor OPC Servers compatible with ICONICS’ own OPC Server, ICONICS OPC KEPServer, and Microsoft Windows CE OPC Server solutions.
“Both ICONICS and Kepware are committed to furthering the adoption of OPC technology through the industrial automation market,” said Russ Agrusa, President and CEO of ICONICS. “ICONICS’ extensive OPC-UA and -DA Server list is a strong differentiator, demonstrating ICONICS’ commitment to OPC standards-based solutions. I encourage anyone involved with OPC technology to take a look at the comprehensive list of Basic and Premium Servers.
“ICONICS is a leader in OPC technology and has been working closely with Kepware for several years” said Roy Kok, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Kepware Technologies, “We see ICONICS as a leader in the adoption of OPC-UA and are happy to partner with them in proving that the technology is ready. Customers can now find one of the largest lists of compatible OPC-UA Servers available through ICONICS.”
“ICONICS and Kepware are both leading developers of OPC Unified Architecture solutions,” said Tom Burke, President of the OPC Foundation. “Both companies are pioneers in bringing OPC-UA from the theoretical into the physical and practical. This partnership agreement now makes OPC-UA a reality.”
"OPC Server products are intended to expand the framework for moving information between applications in both the manufacturing and enterprise spaces, leveraging Web Services as the key technology enabler for deploying applications that can utilize OPC technology to move data and information,” said Craig Resnick, Research Director at ARC Advisory Group. “This is why it is critical to manufacturers that any OPC solution being implemented is sourced from partners who have extensive experience in deploying OPC applications, which is certainly the case for both ICONICS and Kepware.”
