April 29, 2010 –--Safety applications meeting the standards IEC 61508 SIL3 and ISO 13849 PLa-e can be certified with the logi.SIL V&V Engineering Tool and the portable logi.SIL Runtime. With this solution, Using logi.SIL offers essential advantages: programming as well as parameterization can be achieved with standard solutions.

Safety where you need it. This is what logi.cals provides with the new product logi.SIL. Users work with the programming system logi.CAD (open IEC 61131-3 automation platform) and with the logi.SIL engineering toolchain for verification, validation and monitoring. Using these components, safety applications according to IEC 61508 and EN ISO 13849 can be realized. Programming and parameterization with standard solutions is the key advantage. No proprietary programming system is necessary.

A specific feature of the logi.SIL engineering software package is that it is available in the form of components which not only interact with logi.CAD, but make any IEC 61131-3 programming system a safe software development environment. logi.SIL can be used as a stand-alone tool, but also as a tool fully integrated in a programming environment.

Programming with full power - and safe!
The logi.SIL platform was specifically developed for the graphical IEC 61131-3 languages. Applications are created with logi.CAD or any other PLCopen TC6-XML-compliant tool. The application is processed in the safe logi.SIL PLC Runtime. This runtime system is able to execute code - verified with the logi.SIL engineering tool - in safe mode in a safe control system. Tests and changes in the Safety PLC are carried out in standard mode. Delta engineering, which - reliably safe - just shows the changes made in already verified applications, remarkably increases your productivity with repeated verifications.
