Machine Automation enhances AlarmAnalyst Process Suite

June 21, 2009 - Machine Automation announces that, in a joint development effort with Shell Oil, “Ensure Safe Production” reporting has been added to AlarmAnalyst Process Suite.

AlarmAnalyst provides interactive graphical analysis of textual alarms, events, operator actions and system messages. The ability to manage vast amounts of time-stamped textual data allows Shell to more effectively track plant problems and improve productivity and safety.

Ensure Safe Production, or “ESP,” defines universal benchmarks and methods for continuous plant improvement. It was created by Shell for their sites running on Honeywell control systems. By leveraging the extensive integration capabilities in AlarmAnalyst, ESP reporting can now be extended to sites running on Foxboro, Emerson, Yokagawa and many others. The addition of ESP to AlarmAnalyst provides Shell with generic front line tools for plant monitoring, report generation and alarm rationalization.

AlarmAnalyst was made part of Shell’s global software image in 2003 and is currently deployed at production facilities in Asia, the Middle East and North America.
