ProSoft Technology announces Industrial Cellular Packages for U.S. and Canada
March 11, 2011 – ProSoft Technology announces new Industrial Cellular Service Packages for AT&T or Verizon 3G networks in the U.S. and Canada. With these service packages, RadioLinx Industrial Cellular modems are delivered pre-activated and ready to install out-of-the-box. Service plans are structured with the industrial customer in mind, making ordering and specifying the correct service plan easier than ever. Users simply specify Ethernet or serial modems for the application, then decide which carrier provides the best coverage for the application area.
Cellular communication technology possesses enormous potential for industrial applications, as coverage areas widen across the U.S. and Canada, and 3G solutions enable connectivity to remote field devices at speeds previously unseen. However, identifying the right cellular data service for a specific application can become confusing for end users when working with local carriers who are unfamiliar with industrial-grade devices and applications. ProSoft Technology’s competitively-priced service packages lift this concern from the user and replace it with support from experienced professionals who understand the needs of industrial customers. For example, industrial devices have unique requirements to communicate with controllers in the field. ProSoft Technology’s service plans are structured to properly accommodate these needs, unlike many solutions which leave the end user to do the negotiation these needs with the service carrier.
The Industrial Cellular series is designed to provide wide area and global wireless connectivity for industrial devices. The series offers low power consumption, a compact form factor, DIN-rail mount, and a rugged design, rated for industrial operating temperatures and certified for Class I Division 2 hazardous locations.
Versions are available for the following cellular networks:
Serial Modem for Global GPRS/GSM (RLXIC-SG)
Use the RLXIC-SG Serial Modem for applications requiring serial connectivity on cellular carriers that use GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) to provide service, including AT&T in the USA.
Ethernet Gateway for HSUPA (3G GSM) Networks (RLXIC-EH)
Use the RLXIC-EH Ethernet Gateway for applications requiring Ethernet connectivity on cellular carriers that use GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) to provide service, including AT&T in the USA.
Serial Modem for the Verizon Wireless CDMA Network (RLXIC-SV)
Use the RLXIC-SV Serial Modem for applications requiring serial connectivity on cellular carriers that use CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) to provide service using the Verizon network in the USA.
Ethernet Gateway for the Verizon Wireless CDMA Network (RLXIC-EV)
Use the RLXIC-EV Ethernet Gateway for applications requiring Ethernet connectivity on cellular carriers that use CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) to provide service using the Verizon network in the USA.
Serial Modem for Canada's TELUS Mobility Wireless Network (RLXIC-ST)
Use the RLXIC-ST Serial Modem for applications requiring serial connectivity on cellular carriers that use Canada's TELUS Mobility Wireless network.
