Schneider Electric Introduces SmartStruxure
January 28, 2013 - Schneider Electric announced SmartStruxure, a solution designed to maximize building efficiency and reduce operating costs across the entire lifecycle of a facility. SmartStruxure solution is made up of hardware and software that is combined with engineering, installation and services to ensure facilities are energy-efficient and effectively managed.
SmartStruxure solution breaks down traditional information silos and delivers integrated building information and real-time data via web access, powerful graphics and trend visualizations, rich reports, and mobile applications to ensure buildings are running at maximum efficiency. Built on open standards, SmartStruxure solution provides seamless integration through LON, BACnet, Modbus, Web Services and Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Web Services. In addition, SmartStruxure solution enables numerous advanced building services, such as automatic mechanical equipment analytics and building optimization.
SmartStruxure solution is powered by StruxureWare Building Operation software, providing integrated monitoring, control and management of HVAC, energy, lighting, and other critical building systems. It has an attractive modern interface that can be personalized for individual users. The solution connects easily to other StruxureWare applications within suites, developed to address the unique needs of key market segments. Supported by EcoStruxure Web Services, the suites unify key software applications across all levels of an enterprise, providing a scalable platform.
SmartStruxure solution represents the building management domain of expertise in the larger Schneider Electric EcoStruxure architecture. EcoStruxure architecture connects five domains of expertise – power, datacenters, process and machines, building management, and physical security – within an open and flexible technology architecture that delivers significant savings on CapEx and OpEx.
“We have installed SmartStruxure solution in a couple of school districts,” said Scott Porter, president of Utah-Yamas Controls, an authorized partner of Schneider Electric. “Our customers love the user interface and easy-to-use features like alarms, schedules and reports. They also appreciate the scalable vector graphics that look great regardless of screen size. The drag-and-drop trending really helps them visualize and optimize their energy performance across the district.”
“We are really excited about what our SmartStruxure solution is able to deliver to a broad spectrum of building stakeholders,” said Barry Coflan, senior vice president of Offer Management for the Buildings Business of Schneider Electric. “We can easily connect with multiple systems such as power, data centers and process control with StruxureWare software. Architects and specifying engineers can be confident in a truly integrated solution from a trusted business partner, and business executives and facility managers have instant access to energy and sustainability metrics, enabling them to better make decisions and control costs.”
