Global Market Compliance: A Local Approach Eases a Complicated Process
By Udo Heinz & Sky Mehringer, TÜVRheinland
To place a product in the global market, manufacturers must maneuver a lengthy and complicated maze of compliance requirements. According to TÜVRheinland, the world leader in independent testing and certification services, manufacturers are turning to compliance experts with local offices to help ease the path to certification. The decision helps keep product launches on schedule and within budget.
Often staffed by national citizens, local offices hold the top experts on the country’s regulatory issues, processes and agencies. Because these individuals understand the local language, dialects, customs and politics, they can communicate directly with the regulatory agency (or in some cases, government ministry) more easily than someone in another time zone. As an accessible liaison to the government, this person can also help with on-site, in-country product inspections.
Manufacturers can learn about the steps to international product compliance as well as major regulatory differences among European and Asian countries in a new white paper by TÜVRheinland called “Global Market Compliance: A Local Approach Eases a Complicated Process.” The informational article also includes five valuable tips to help prepare for global compliance certification.
