Haydon Switch releases Size 14 Linear Actuators
April 2, 2007 - Waterbury, CT – Haydon Switch & Instrument announces size 14 hybrid linear actuators, now available with a 0.9 degree step angle. Like the 1.8 degree version, this actuator is available in all four designs; captive, non-captive, external linear, and linear rotary. Combined with a stainless steel lead screw, the linear actuator delivers an extremely smooth, precise motion. Haydon’s linear actuators are designed for applications that require long life, reliability, precise positioning and rapid motion. This new step angle is designed for higher resolution and allows for a full step linear movement of 1.6 microns.

The complete size 14 product line has resolutions ranging from 0.00006” (0.001524 mm) to 0.0025” (0.0635 mm) per step, with operational thrust capabilities of up to 50 pounds. Like all of Haydon’s linear actuators these models can also be micro stepped for even finer resolution. These high resolution hybrid linear actuators have been specially engineered to deliver high speed, force and endurance. They feature a production-proven, patent pending rotor drive nut that delivers trouble-free, long-term performance. These compact units provide a cost effective solution for engineers requiring positional accuracy and high speed linear travel for their project. In addition to standard configurations, Haydon can custom design this motor to meet your specific application requirements.

Haydon is recognized worldwide as a leader for stepper motor based linear actuators, rotary motors, lead screw assemblies, and sealed switches. The Company, headquartered in Waterbury, CT, develops, designs and manufacturers internationally patented products for the global marketplace. Haydon custom designs and manufacturers electric motors for medical equipment, instrumentation, industrial equipment, machinery automation, HVAC, telecommunications, semiconductor, office equipment, and many other custom applications. The unique designs provide precise, reliable motors with unmatched performance-to-size ratios. Motors are simple and versatile, making them well suited for customization and manufacturing.
