April 3, 2007, Greenwood, Indiana - Endress+Hauser, Inc. announces the Levelflex M smart transmitter for continuous level measurement in liquids and bulk solids. This transmitter was designed for use in process control or inventory/storage applications as well as vacuum vessels and filler bowls.
Levelflex M is a top-mounted, compact transmitter with guided radar (TDR) which provides safe and reliable measurements that are not influenced by fluctuations in density, temperature, or build-up of dust. The radar technology can reliably handle measurement of powdery and granular bulk materials, even with dust clouds from pneumatic filling and precise measurement of liquids despite foam and turbulent surfaces. Given the guided radar as well as the range of up to 100 feet in length, The Levelflex M is an excellent alternative to ultrasonic measurement, which often is limited by dust and small, narrow silos and bins.
The simple, menu-guided, on-site operation with four-line plain text display or the remote display and operation conducted via a PC gives the user the flexibility and simplicity he/she desires. The envelope curves on the on-site display allow for simple diagnosis, and the Time-of-Flight (ToF) operating program that is supplied with the Levelflex M enables easy operation, diagnosis, and measuring point documentation.
The Levelflex M is factory calibrated and can be installed in silos that are already full allowing easy integration and reducing the set-up time and costs. The 4-20 mA two-wire technology simplifies installation and also enables easy integration into existing systems.
Flexibility is enhanced with the following three probe versions designed for specific applications:
Cable probes for measurement in bulk solids and liquids
Rod Probes for measurement in liquids and solids
Coax probes for measurement in liquids only
This version can be used in storage and buffer tanks, even those equipped with agitators, since the measurement is completely independent of other elements in the tank and of the installation of the nozzle.
The Levelflex M meets 3-A sanitary standards and is available in three interfaces for system integration including, HART® (standard), 4 to 20 mA; PROFIBUS-PA; and Foundation Fieldbus. Probes are available with various process connections including ¾ NPT, 1-½ NPT, and flanges up to 8.
The Levelflex M is part of the ToF family of products Endress+Hauser, Inc. has to offer. We have the know-how in level applications from decades of pioneering level measuring technologies. Choose the Micropilot M (radar), Prosonic M (ultrasonic), or the Levelflex M (guided radar) to best suit the application and budget.
