Bosch Rexroth publishes guidebook on Lean Production for Medical Manufacturing
June 19, 2007 - Buchanan, MI – The Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies group from the Bosch Rexroth Corporation is offering a free guidebook titled Lean Production and Material Flow in Medical Manufacturing. The 18-page, full color guidebook is designed to give medical manufacturers practical information about lean production, including when to use manual production techniques and when to use automation. The guidebook’s goal is to help medical manufacturers overcome ever-changing production challenges to keep up with the fast pace of technological change unique to the medical industry. The guidebook is available upon request from the company’s web site at www.boschrexroth-us.com/lean .

Inside the guidebook, medical manufacturers will find a Lean Production Decision Matrix on the fold-out back flap to help them select the appropriate manual or automated production systems to address specific industry challenges, including short runs, complex product packaging, shrinking product lifecycles and strict environmental controls. Highlights include: fully automated production scenarios, flexible modular conveyors, powered transport systems (specifically the TS family of modular conveyors), VarioFlow modular conveyor systems, and manual production systems. Web links and helpful resources and tools are sprinkled throughout the guidebook to put additional information just a few mouse clicks away.
