ROCHESTER, N.Y., JULY 11, 2007 – GE MDS, formerly Microwave Data Systems, is expanding its product offering with the addition of industrial Ethernet switches.

The new MultiLink family of switches accommodates customers’ needs to connect multiple Ethernet devices to GE MDS industrial radios. The MultiLink family of Ethernet switches has the flexibility and features to perform in the harsh, industrial electric substation and transportation environments. In addition, it incorporates copper and fiber interfaces on a compact platform.

“These Ethernet switches are hardened for industrial environments and meet the most stringent security requirements,” stated Arturo Herrera, GE MDS product manager. “The MultiLink switches are in line with our strategy for secure communications in industrial platforms.”

The MultiLink line of managed and unmanaged switches are designed for the unique needs of the protection and control industry and are unsurpassed in the areas of network security, industrial robustness and network reliability.
