Andantax announces SRP planetary reducer
July 20, 2007 - The SRP is more than just another planetary reducer; it constitutes a real integrated concept that combines several pre-assembled functions to provide a complete sub-assembly for the most demanding machines. It also features exceptional performance levels, including an overall rigidity that is 10 to 20% higher than the best market standards.

Its especially compact design brings together the mechanical functions that are essential to control highly dynamic movements on all types of robots, machine tools or special machines. Whether movement control is required for rotation (robot arms, indexing tables, tool changers, etc.) or translation (precision rack and pinion drives), the SRP provides very high axial and radial load-bearing capacities as standard, together with the highest levels of overall rigidity available on the market. Excellent constant velocity and angular backlash of about one minute of arc are added to these exceptional qualities. The input interface is available throughout the range in an in-line flange version or with a 90° angle (associated with a high-quality angle drive).

This new planetary reducer combines the following functions:
  • A “high-tech” output bearing featuring oversized conical bearings. The unique design of the casing/outer ring assembly enables use of larger bearings than those fitted by competitors, for the same unit size. The SRP is thus able to provide performance levels as to torsional rigidity that are among the highest on the market. The conical bearings are fitted with an axial preload. The exterior ring is made in-house, as an integral part of the front casing of the unit (which also includes the fastening flange).
  • A set of highly sophisticated planetary gears using REDEX ANDANTEX's widely recognized expertise in the field of differentials. It provides considerable rigidity and very low levels of angular backlash, together with very high efficiency and mass torque.
  • A universal range of ready-to-use motor interfaces (flange and shaft fastening)
  • An angle drive of exceptional quality is available as an option. It is made using a Klingelnberg HPG-S cutting system (the spiro-conical gears are made in-house for all sizes, contrary to competitors).

The SRP is set apart by its performance levels:
  • Superior torsional rigidity, and extremely high radial rigidity and tipping moment levels. The real difference is to be found in what is in fact much more important for the user, i.e. the combined rigidity. On the basis of this criterion, the SRP is between 10 and 20% superior to the equivalent units available on the market.
  • A high input speed (up to 1,200 rpm).
  • Maximum acceleration torque and nominal torque (from 1,000 to 2,840 Nm).

Through its universal design, the SRP enables design engineering departments to always find exactly the right solution to their high-technology requirements, thanks to the very wide range and the numerous options available:
  • 5 sizes
  • 8 reduction ratios
  • 2 levels of angular backlash (1’ or 3’)
  • Angle drive versions available in all the sizes
  • Full solutions with reducer + pinion + rack available in all the sizes (2 output pinion diameters available for each size).
