SCHAUMBURG, IL - August 10, 2007 - Omron’s next generation E5CSV temperature controller offers enhanced capabilities, lower cost, and shorter mounting depth while retaining the well-liked simplicity of the market-dominating original E5CS-X. Used predominantly in packaging machinery, the E5CSV can also handle other disturbance sensitive applications such as fryers, wrappers and sealers.
The large (13.5mm high) LED display is easy to read and expanded to 3½ digits for high-temperature work up to 1999 degrees. Self-tuning and on-demand auto-tuning of PID parameters optimize performance without requiring expert knowledge. The E5CSV provides indication of output and alarm status and direction of deviation from set point to make the display more informative for monitoring. Simple setup still uses DIP and rotary switches to select sensor input type, range, ON/OFF or PID control action and alarm function. The E5CSV is end-user friendly since the menu only has three parameters to set. The built-in set value protection reduces chances of malfunction due to tampering. The IP66 rated flat front panel makes E5CSV hygienic and easily cleaned. Measuring just 78mm deep, the temperature controller fits in thinner panels.
For easy connection to a broad range of temperature sensor types, E5CSV models are available with thermocouple input, platinum RTD input, and multi-input capability (both thermocouple and platinum RTD input types in one unit). Models with one or two alarm outputs or no alarm outputs are available to meet specific application needs. E5CSV temperature controllers are available from stock, and start at $186.00 list for models without alarm, and up to $205.00 list for models with multi-input capability and two alarm outputs.
