Wonderware announces Historian for OEMs and VARs

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Aug. 28, 2007 - Wonderware launched a version of the Wonderware Historian specifically for value-added resellers (VARs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

The new version is called Wonderware Historian - OEM Edition and is optimized for the OEM/VAR. It enables customers of Wonderware software and other vendors' HMI/SCADA products to reduce commissioning times and respond faster to maintenance needs.

The Wonderware Historian - OEM Edition allows VARs and OEMs, such as machine and solution builders, to include a historian with each installation of InTouch. This provides the ability to more effectively commission a machine solution by using meaningful analysis, comparing various information points rather than relying on the standard trend feature of InTouch. In addition, should they be required to maintain a machine solution, customers can more effectively perform meaningful analysis.

This version offers 24-hour history retrieval. However, if customers wish to perform further analysis ranging beyond 24 hours, they can purchase a full Wonderware Historian license. The full license provides access to all stored data and the ability to perform functions such as shift-to-shift, product-run to product-run or golden batch reports.

"This is a great opportunity for both users of InTouch and other vendor HMI/SCADA products to add significant value to their machines or solutions, while reducing their commissioning and maintenance times," said Mike Bradshaw, director of the Wonderware VAR/OEM business.
