ProSoft Technology's Gas Flow Computer certified for custody transfer in Canada
BAKERSFIELD, Calif., August 30, 2007 - ProSoft Technology’s in-rack Flow Computer (PTQ-AFC) for Schneider Electric’s Quantum/Unity platform is now certified for custody transfer due to its accuracy in calculations and measures. In an industry where prices are high and where the slightest variance in accuracy can significantly affect the bottom line, this certification assures end users that the PTQ-AFC flow computer is capable of the challenge. The module, which complies with AGA 3, 7, and 8 measurement standards, operates with a precision keen enough to use when establishing prices for the gas being measured. Additionally, the PTQ-AFC module supports 16 meter runs, another means for better facilitating custody transfer of products between two parties and line balance for pipeline leak detection.

The PTQ-AFC module allows integrated process control and flow computer capabilities in a single-slot, in-rack solution. This unique module is equipped with three built-in ModbusTM ports which provide users with on-line meter configuration access for the defined meter data table. One Modbus port can be configured as a Master, providing a Modbus interface to gas chromatographs (for gas analysis) or to any other Modbus Slave devices. This level of flexibility in communication between the flow computer and ModbusTM devices is critical for pump stations and process plants.

Features Include:
  • Weights & Measures Locking Capability
  • Maximum of 48 streams per meter (Implement by use of slush streams)
  • Hard password reset security
  • Strict adherence to AGA 3, 7, 8 industry standards
  • On-line, detailed check of active flow measurement calculations for a selected meter run
  • Event Log reporting for all security sensitive configuration data (e.g. Orifice Diameter) are date and time stamped and mapped to the local Modbus memory

The AFC Manager is a user-friendly, Windows-based software which easily configures the PTQ-AFC module to meet individual needs. Operator data is displayed in user-selected engineering units and is designed to cope with exceptionally demanding regimes.

    ProSoft Technology: Where Automation Connects
ProSoft Technology specializes in the development of communication solutions compatible with the large automation supplier’s controllers such as Rockwell Automation and Schneider Electric. The primary focus is to provide connectivity solutions that link dissimilar automation products. ProSoft Technology’s offerings consist of four primary product families: Protocol and network connectivity modules known as inRAx for Rockwell Automation and ProTalk for Schneider Electric; stand-alone gateways, protocol converters, and wireless gateways known as ProLinx; and industrial serial and Ethernet wireless modules known as RadioLinx.

Over the last 20 years, ProSoft Technology’s product lines have grown to over 400 communication modules supporting more than 60 different protocols. ProSoft Technology provides field-proven connectivity and communication solutions that bridge between various automation products as seamlessly as if they were all from the same supplier. These connectivity options enable controller platforms to provide solutions in areas such as computing gas flow calculations and SCADA telemetry applications. These solutions also enable interfacing to motor controls, drives and other devices in industries such as water/wastewater, power generation, oil & gas, machinery, packaging, and production.

ProSoft Technology is committed to providing localized sales and support to customers worldwide. Sales, product engineering and support services are provided internationally by over 600 distributors in 52 countries and served by Regional Area Offices in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

All ProSoft Technology products come with a minimum one year warranty and unlimited technical support. Sales are available worldwide; contact your automation equipment distributor or ProSoft Technology, Inc.
