Taipei, Taiwan, September 17, 2007 – Ethernet Direct announced a series of Fiber Optic to RS-232/422/485 converters specifically designed to extend distance up to 2 km over multimode fiber and up to 120 km over single mode fiber.
The new RUS-115 and RUS-125 series integrates serial and multi-mode or single mode fiber networks to provide a reliable and economical solution for your industrial Ethernet environment. This offers seamless integration while working as transparent device serial connection and industrial Ethernet.
RUS series converters are available in two interface options: DB9 or Terminal block. It is designed to sustain vibration and shock, making the converter suitable for industrial environments.

The RUS series incorporates a method to automatically detect the serial baud rate which is a convenient feature in the hardware. It provides reliability when in use and easy transmission without problem. The transmission speed based on RS-232 can be up to 115.2kbps and 500kbps can RS-422/485 network. Multimode fiber option can extend up to a transmission distance up to 2 Km while single mode fiber can extend transmission distance up to 30 km and extended distance up to 120km is available.
