EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, BOSTON, MA - September 19, 2007 - Green Hills Software enhanced its Platform for Secure Wireless Devices with extended Wi-Fi security, Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX), Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), and new reference driver support for a number of industry-leading Wi-Fi chipsets targeting the embedded, low-power device markets. These new capabilities provide customers requiring Wi-Fi support in current and/or future products a rapid, low-risk path to satisfy wireless design requirements with a complete, proven, integrated solution.

“Integration of wireless communications is expanding into every imaginable device and market, from medical devices to utility meters – even your automobiles,” said Dan Mender, director business development, Green Hills Software. “In the home market alone, more than two billion wireless devices of some sort are predicted to ship over the next six years. With this comes an increased requirement for end-device security and simplified consumer use.”

This expanding market requires easy access to a small footprint, integrated, validated wireless solution that offers a wide range of capabilities and services. The Green Hills Secure Wireless Devices Platform provides just that and now includes:

1)Authentication Supplicant Support
  • Provides connectivity to widely deployed security enabled networks
    *IEEE 802.1X
  • Wi-Fi WPA2-Personal and WPA2-Enterprise certifiable

    2)Enterprise CCX client support
  • Provides connectivity to Cisco enterprise networks
  • Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX) - v3 and v4 certifiable

    3)Easy Access technology/WPS Client
  • Simplifies wireless configuration for consumers
  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) certifiable

    4)Updated Wireless Reference Platform
  • Based on a COTS Atmel AT91SAM9263 reference board
  • Preconfigured and integrated with
    *INTEGRITY RTOS
    *Reference board BSP
    *GHNet TCP/IP Networking Stack
    *GHNet SSL Client/Server
*Wireless driver support for Atheros and Marvell

The critical nature of the information stored on end devices is growing and consumers require advanced security to feel safe about storing credit card, bank account and password information along with other sensitive personal information The Green Hills Platform for Secure Wireless Devices integrated with advanced Wi-Fi silicon solutions provide the support OEM device manufactures require to develop and deliver Wi-Fi-enabled devices with absolute security in the fastest time-to-market.

The Green Hills Secure Wireless Devices Platform is built on the industry’s most secure and reliable separation kernel, INTEGRITY, delivering customers a device foundation that is spoof-proof, hack-proof and crash-proof. The Green Hills Secure Wireless Devices Platform solves the most critical aspects of developing secure wireless products on time and under budget.

    Availability
Authentication Supplicant support, Enterprise CCX client support and Easy Access technology / WPS Client support is available today.
