Banner introduces PresencePLUS lights for vision sensing
Minneapolis, MN - September 20, 2007 - Banner Engineering Corp. introduces PresencePLUS sealed linear array lights to its comprehensive line of lighting accessories for vision sensing applications. Linear array lights provide high-intensity lighting of large areas or objects at long distances with vivid, maintenance-free LED illumination. These high-power, solid-state arrays are housed in a durable, waterproof, IP68-rated housing, making them a superior lighting option for washdown environments. Banner linear array lights connect directly to 24V dc power; constant intensity and strobe control are built into the light.

Linear array lights are available in 290 or 580 mm array lengths. They are offered in models with infrared or visible red, blue, green or white LEDs and with a choice of clear acrylic, glass or acrylic diffusing windows. The arrays' LEDs illuminate targets with a lens angle of 10°, and arrays are available in a 316 stainless steel or nickel-plated aluminum housing for rugged, reliable operation in difficult industrial environments. All models are sealed for use in washdown applications, while stainless steel models provide added protection from harsh, corrosive chemicals. Models also provide continuous or strobed operation through a dedicated strobe input line. Prices start at $950.

“Proper illumination of large parts in harsh washdown environments can be particularly challenging, but sealed linear array lights are ideal for these applications,” said Dan Holste, director of Banner vision sensors. “These lights are constructed with a smooth nickel-plated aluminum or stainless steel exterior for easy cleaning in washdown environments and offer a selection of LED colors, delivering numerous lighting options for a wide range of vision inspection applications.” Holste adds, “The addition of linear array lights to Banner’s line of lighting accessories for vision sensing applications demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional lighting to suit a variety of sensing needs.”

Applications. Banner’s PresencePLUS vision sensors deliver an excellent solution for challenging manufacturing, assembly and inspection applications. PresencePLUS sealed linear array lights enhance these vision sensing capabilities by providing high-intensity illumination of large objects in washdown and other harsh industrial environments.

Plus, several features of the linear array lights make them particularly easy to set up and use:
  • Choice of infrared or visible red, blue, green or white LEDs
  • Available in 290 or 580 mm array lengths
  • Rugged, waterproof housing—rated IP68
  • Smooth housing exterior for easy cleaning during washdown
  • Continuous or strobed operation
  • Optically isolated strobe signal
  • Choice of 316 stainless steel or nickel-plated aluminum housing
  • Available with clear acrylic, glass or acrylic diffusing windows
  • Euro-style quick-disconnect for use with PresencePLUS vision sensors or other vision sensors
  • 316 stainless steel mounting brackets available

A family of affordable vision sensors. Banner's extensive line of PresencePLUS vision sensors includes standard-resolution and high-resolution, single-purpose and multi-purpose vision sensors, as well as lighting, lenses, brackets and other accessories. One reason Banner’s PresencePLUS vision sensor products are so successful is because they share a user interface considered the most intuitive on the market today. It is available in nine languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. With the PresencePLUS’s intuitive interface, even operators with only basic computer skills can easily set up an inspection.

About Banner. Banner Engineering is the world’s leading manufacturer of vision sensors, wireless networks, electronic machine guarding systems, photoelectric and ultrasonic sensors, precision measurement systems and fiber optic assemblies.
