AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Sept. 20, 2007 – KMT Robotic Solutions Inc. and Branson Ultrasonics Corp. have teamed to create cost effective, automated ultrasonic knife trimming systems that easily move through soft parts that were previously difficult to trim.

By combining a six-axis robot with Branson ultrasonic components, KMT can manufacture cost-effective automated knife trimming solutions that help manufacturers trim soft rubber, foam, plastic, vinyl and other materials more quickly and accurately. The cost effective robotic technology also allows manufacturers to look forward to increased quality, reliability and repeatability, as well as higher throughput and a quick payback on their investment.

“The partnership between KMT and Branson Ultrasonics Corp. is an ideal opportunity to bring together outstanding technologies from the two companies,” said Jeffrey Frantz, director – ultrasonic business development, Branson Ultrasonics. ”KMT has long been considered a leader in robotic automation solutions; and with over 60 years of direct experience, Branson is an innovator in applying ultrasonic technology to solve difficult problems. Together KMT and Branson have developed a unique product for cutting and trimming.”

”KMT Robotic Solutions is continuously searching for additional trimming technologies that will better assist its customers,” said Chris Lutz, vice president of sales, KMT Robotic Solutions. “Our partnership with Branson, the leader in ultrasonic technology, will help us serve customers that were unable to help in the past.”
