October 4, 2007 - Amphenol Socapex announces the RJF Ethernet connector.
Its steel shell provides excellent mechanical behaviour: 10 g vibration resistance (at 10 500 Hz, 3-axis) and IK06 impact resistance (equivalent to a 250 g weight falling on the mated connectors from a height of 40 cm). Acceptable tension on the RJ45 lead in the plug is up to 100 N along the axis, and the minimum number of mating cycles is 500.
RJF has an IP67 sealing rating and offers 48 h salt spray resistance with nickel-plating finish and 96 h with black electrophoretic treatment, rising to longer than 500 h for the anodic oxidation and cadmium-plated version. UL 94 V0 fire resistance. Humidity: withstands 21 days at 43°C (98% humidity).
Allowable temperature range 40°C to + 85°C. Thermal shock resistance: 5 cycles from 40°C to + 100°C.
Locking by bayonet coupling (audible and mechanical locking click), with 4 mechanical polarization options (insert rotation).
This solution is suitable for 10 Base T, 100 Base TX and 1000 Base T networks - Category 5e according to TIA/EIA 568B and Class D according to ISO/IEC 11801. RJF uses the patented Amphenol Socapex RJ-STOP process to convert a standard conventional Ethernet cable into an IP67 Ethernet connection.
This circular connector derived from the MIL-C-26482 standard is designed particularly for industrial automation, field buses, data acquisition, machine-tools, telecom equipment, CCTV, robotics, process control, etc.
