NI enhances LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5
Oct. 23, 2007 – National Instruments released LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5 interactive measurement software. The latest version of LabVIEW SignalExpress introduces several performance improvements including a Project Analyzer to help engineers and scientists identify and address common measurement mistakes. LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5 also is available in fully localized French, German and Japanese versions.

The Project Analyzer quickly scans measurement tasks and identifies potential errors before the user begins acquiring data. With this feature, engineers and scientists can improve their measurement accuracy and reliability and avoid time-consuming debugging. LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5 also provides performance improvements, which include enhanced drag-and-drop capabilities for exporting data to Microsoft Excel, simplified data conversion and saving to ASCII files and additions to the statistics and IVI-C functionality as well as improved printing and drag-and-drop functionality in the Project Documentation view. Additionally, engineers and scientists now can purchase fully localized French, German and Japanese versions of LabVIEW SignalExpress.

Because LabVIEW SignalExpress is based on LabVIEW Express technology, engineers and scientists can generate LabVIEW graphical programming code with a single mouse click to extend their applications with original user interfaces or add custom logic for more advanced data-logging applications. LabVIEW SignalExpress also offers tight integration with NI Multisim software and the NI Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS) environment, making it possible to import SPICE models from Multisim and other leading simulation packages into LabVIEW SignalExpress and compare the results with actual data from circuit prototypes built on NI ELVIS. In addition, the interactive software provides one-click, plug-and-play setup with the NI CompactDAQ USB-based modular data acquisition system and works with more than 270 data acquisition devices.

Readers can view LabVIEW SignalExpress demonstrations and get technical information by visiting www.ni.com/signalexpress or download LabVIEW SignalExpress LE, a limited version of the software, for free by visiting www.ni.com/signalexpresseval. Members of the National Instruments LabVIEW SignalExpress service maintenance and support program receive LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5 automatically in the mail or can download the new version at the Services Resource Center at www.ni.com/src.
