October 30, 2007 - Carlisle, PA - Automation Systems Interconnect released a terminal block that combines the modularity and flexibility of standard IEC terminal blocks with the ability to accept wires equipped with either ring or spade lug terminals. The ASIST5-SL is a sliding link block that is capable of handling a wide range of wires, it has a rating of 35 amps at 600 volts and is equipped with test sockets all in a fully enclosed housing. The housing itself is molded from UL94V0 material and there are several accessories available such as circuit bridges and strip markers for easy labeling.
The sliding link terminal blocks, typically used in utility applications, are normally a one piece non-modular design so the new ASIST5-SL adds a whole new level of convenience for both the designer and the wiring technician.
The ASIST5-SL is part of an entire family of modular ring lug terminal blocks that consist of single level feed through, double level, multiple point in one block and fuse blocks. The ASIST5-SL can be used in all types of test circuits including CT circuits where shorting capability is necessary.
