Parvalux adds IEC and NEMA flanges to motors

November 15, 2007 - Parvalux offers a series of IEC B14 and NEMA standard flanges and shafts for their complete range of permanent magnet (PM) motors. This means that their motors can now carry a European or North-American standardised interface if needed.

For each motor size the standards stipulate: hole centre distance (also referred to as Pitch Circle Diameter), hole diameter, shaft length, shaft diameter and flange diameter.

This new option allows Parvalux DC motors to interface with a much wider range of gearboxes as well as providing a standardised interface for pulleys and gears. Customers can download CAD diagrams of both the IEC B14 and NEMA standards for each Permanent Magnet motor model from the Parvalux website.

About Parvalux
Founded in 1947, as one of the UK's first manufacturers of fractional horsepower motors, Parvalux has built a reputation for offering one of the worlds most extensive and reliable ranges of customisable AC and DC geared motor units. Parvalux is a successful, privately run business with distributors in 23 countries.

About the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the IEC is the organisation that prepares and publishes international standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. IEC standards are developed in a consensus process by experts from the participating countries and are used as a basis to harmonise technical requirements in member and non-member countries.

About the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
Headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia, NEMA is the leading trade association in the USA representing the interests of electroindustry manufacturers of products used in the generation, transmission and distribution, control, and end-use of electricity. NEMA standards include those developed with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
