Xantrex introduces Sorensen XG programmable DC power supplies
SAN DIEGO, Calif., December 11, 2007 — Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX:XTX) announces the launch of the new Sorensen XG Series Programmable DC Power Supplies by Xantrex. The Sorensen XG Series, with 850 watts of power, has the highest power density for any 1U, half-rack form factor power supply on the market.

The new Sorensen XG Series, in the classic Sorensen black design, is available in 12 models ranging in power from 6 volts to 600 volts. The series is designed for a wide range of production test, laboratory, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and quality assurance applications. It provides comprehensive interfaces, including standard USB 2.0 and optional GPIB or LAN Ethernet interfaces for connecting to a computer or other network devices. Furthermore, the XG Series boasts features unavailable on competitive units, such as auxiliary outputs and a save/recall mode that captures three memory settings. Economical connection of up to 30 Sorensen XG Series units is accomplished via a multi-channel RS-485 bus that eliminates the need for a GPIB card in each unit.

"The Sorensen XG Series extends our family of high power density solutions for our customers’ production test and OEM applications," said Joe Budano, Xantrex’s President & General Manager, Programmable Power. "This product was designed for seamless system integration as well as ease of operation with powerful front panel user controls."

Xantrex rigorously tests its power supplies using Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), to ensure reliability under the toughest conditions and backs the Sorensen XG Series with a comprehensive five-year warranty - the longest warranty on the market.

The Sorensen XG Series can be ordered now from Xantrex and its network of authorized distributors and representatives.
