NOVI, MICH - (January 14, 2008) - CP introduced the Posco Sequencing and Positioning Control System for fastener tightening operations in production assembly environments. The Posco line is part of the Desoutter family of production tools.
Posco selects the correct tool torque value and position for each step in a fastening operation. Modular and flexible, the system provides solutions for custom applications, yet is built from standard products, facilitating fast delivery and making it easy for customers to specify.
According to Will Polumbo, Product Manager for CP, The Posco system is aimed at improving reliability and flexibility in any tightening process. It can be tailored to fit any assembly operation up to 70 Nm, and can be used with any manufacturers electric or air tools. Posco systems will also check and ensure a complete assembly, run multiple sequences with programmable tightening strategies and position definitions, and choose and enable processes by fastener location. Posco systems will even allow up to 32 different assemblies for multiple jobs, with modular additions available for even more functionality.
Posco systems can be programmed by the operator and do not require additional software. The systems modular design allows the user to add features as needed. The basic system consists of a Posco500 box and positioning arm, with optional features including an LED module, bit tray, and an I/O expansion that doubles the amount of available I/O.
