February 8, 2008 - Schaumburg, IL USA - Omron Electronic Components LLC announces the availability of a new series of IP67 rated circular industrial connectors that feature a one touch bayonet locking system enabling connection in just 1/8th of a turn. The integrity of the circuit connection is far superior to traditional screw style connectors due to an audible click indicating complete insertion. They are available in a plug or socket versions and are ideal for industrial applications. Other end system assembly advantages include reduced connection time (cut 90% compared to screw styles), less fatigue by the assembler, and easier “blind mating” as situations present themselves. The connectors also provide optimum seal performance when compared to screw styles because the chance of over or under tightening seals has been eliminated. Improved shock/vibration resistance combined with a connector that will not unscrew ensures the connection thus reducing costly equipment downtime.
The XS5 series plastic shell connectors have 4 circuits with a contact rating of 4A at 250VAC (A version) or DC (D version) and will mate with existing screw type M12 styles. Cable assembly versions include the XS5F single-ended socket, The XS5H single ended plug, and the XF5W double-ended socket/plug in lengths from 1 to 10m.
